Are you having difficulty sleeping at night? Have you experienced suffering or trauma, large or small? Do you feel anxious or fidgety? Do small things trigger memories of an unpleasant or particularly difficult experience and leave you feeling nervous or depressed? Do you find yourself avoiding events because of fear or anxiety that something dreadful will happen?

Most people experience some form of trauma during their lives, and many people struggle with the effects of trauma and crisis that can result in PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety or depression. If you are struggling with having experienced difficult early childhood experiences, psychotherapy can be valuable step towards healing.

The magnitude of the stressor is clearly an important factor however It does not define trauma. You are the only person to decide if something was traumatic.

What I have learned in my work with individuals is that the human spirit is amazingly resilient. Some of the most impressive and empowered people have endured loss, abuse, trauma and have recovered after emerging from the difficult feelings that accompany these experiences.

Through psychotherapy people can learn to embrace themselves fully, let go of the hope for a better past and accept the story of their life, and claim empowerment over their lives and choices.

Trauma counseling, attachment trauma and PTSD treatment requires that a therapist have unique education and understanding of the issues and use an approach to healing that is sensitive to the emotions and past experiences of the client. I am trained in psychodynamic modalities and in EMDR a technique particularly addresses PTSD. I have done extensive work in treating PTSD and attachment trauma. I understand the unique aspects of problems presented by trauma.

There is no one “magic pill” to solve all of one’s struggles in life.  Nor is there necessarily one specific therapeutic approach that will explicitly “guarantee” cures.  In stead each person’s experiences are unique to them, so are the various approaches that can lead to healing.  As such, the length of treatment will vary for each person.  Rest assured, I am committed to consistently collaborating with you and I will monitor your progress and well-being on a regular basis.  If adjustments to treatment are in order, we will be in consistent communication with one another and regularly tailoring your therapeutic treatment depending on your needs in order to enhance the benefits to you.
